Usher Syndrome is the most common condition that affects both hearing and vision. Usher Syndrome also affects vestibular function (balance). With Usher Syndrome Type 1, you have profound hearing loss from birth, and usually at around ten years of age, it begins to affect vision, starting with night vision.
